Married: On the 22, in Muncy, C.R. Lilley, Esq., of ;Clinton township, and Mis Julia L. Patton, of this borough.
Died: In East Muncy, on the 18th inst., Elizabeth, wife of Christian Resh, aged 39 years.
This edition of the Luminary is the first printed by the aid of steam.
The Muncy Creek Railway, owing to both of its engines being disabled, was unable to run trains until the Philadelphia and Reading company loaned it an engine.
John P. Elliot, a former Muncy resident, committed suicide at Pinegrove, by taking poison.

Married: On Oct. 4 William O. Hiss, of Williamsport, andMiss Annie C. Fahrenbach, of Muncy.
Died: In this borough, on the 23d inst., Mrs. Margaret Montgomery, aged 78 years.
Waldron and Sprout’s new factory is being rapidly pushed to completion.
Capt. Wayne Reid, the novelist, who died in London on the 21st., was a brother of the late Mrs. Heron, of this place, whose husband, Rev. Archibald Heron, was pastor of the Muncy Presbyterian church a few years ago.
The post office at Muncy station will probably be discontinued, as Postmaster J.E. Kift has sent in his resignation, to take effect early next month.

The Borough of Muncy had its first highway fatality of 1953 last Friday when 41-year old William L. West, Muncy, died following injuries when his motorcycle crashed into aa tree on Green Street here.
A record attendance of over 700 persons marked the first open meeting of the PTA of the Muncy-Muncy Creek schools on Tuesday evening.

Deaths and Funerals
The funeral of Mrs. Perry Hughes will take place Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Rev. Richard Fortran officiating. Interment will be made at Pleasant Hill cemetery. Mrs. Hughes died Tuesday at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Hughes, on Academy street, following her husband in less than two weeks. He died October 12.
The interment of Mrs. Frank Jones took place on Saturday at Wildwood cemetery, Williamsport. Mrs. Jones was spending some time with her daughter, Mrs. Chapman Henry, at Albany, N.Y., where she was taken ill and died. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Chapman Henry, and a son, Reginald.
A Halloween masquerade dance will be held at Shady Nook pavilion on Tuesday, October 30. Keystone Sirens of Williamsport will furnish music. The hall will be decorated for the occasion and prizes will be awarded for the best costumes.
The merchandise shoot, in which the club members of the Hit or Miss Gun club participated Saturday afternoon, drew a large crowd. Marksmen [who won prizes] were: Robert Latimer, Wilbur Faus, Charles J. Kahler, Donald Egly, Edward Frontz, and Bud Walton. Charles Walton, of Muncy, won the booby prize.
The What-I-Can society of the Picture Rocks Baptist Church will hold a bazaar December 6, 7, 8 in the church parlors.

Israel Worthington will expose to Public Sale on his farm, one mile from Mawr Glen, on Wednesday, October 31, 1923, at 10 o’clock A.M., the following: Farm, consisting of 109 acres; five cows, 2 young cattle, horse farm implements, lot of household goods, organ, carpet, coal oil heater and many other articles too numerous to mention.
Walter Croman will expose to Public Sale on the George Ryan farm, situated near the Mt. Vernon church, on the Rock Run road to Eagles Mere, on Saturday, October 27, 1923, at 10 o’clock “A.M., the following: Team mules, eight milk cows, beef cow, 2 Holstein heifers, sow and pigs, farm implements, two room stoves and many other articles.
J.O. Temple will expose to Public Sale on his farm one-fourth mile north of Beaver Lake on Tuesday, November 6, 1923, at 10 o’clock A.M., the following: Two horses, two cows, sow and seven pigs, 34 turkeys, 11 ducks, lot of chickens, farm implements and many articles.
