The tower of the new insurance building was completed Wednesday by the erection of a forty foot flag staff surmounted by a gilt eagle.
Married: On the 21st inst., S.D .Hoffman, of three Rivers, Mich., and Miss Mary E. Ritter, of Muncy. On Nov. 26th William B. Brewer and Miss Rosa A. Taylor.
Something less than 700 hunters from this place were out on Thanksgiving Day. We have not heard of any game being secured.
The semi-monthly exercises of the Muncy schools were held last Friday with about 200 students.
Friday, Nov. 30, 1883
The first Sunday trains on the P.and E.R.R. passed Muncy Station last Sunday, the up train at 7:30 A.M., and the night train down at 7:05 P.M.
A song “The Orchard Bars” was composed by H.T. Eckert, and the music arranged by our townsman, Thomas Lloyd.
Our street lights are a grand improvement but it must be confessed they seem few and far between on a dark night.

Busy Bee Helps Radiators from Freezing-Compound Prepared by Muncy Man–R.E. Merrill, of this place, one of the proprietors of the Merrill Bee and Honey Company has devised a honey compound for use in automobile radiators that will prevent freezing even in the coldest weather.
The Weis Pure Food Store, which has been located in the Rankin block for some time, was last week moved across the street to the store room adjoining Herman Herr’s clothing store.
George Weaver, a farmer residing near lIme Bluff, Hughesville, R.D., butchered a hog on Friday of last week which dressed 714 pounds.

Picture Rocks
Dr. C.A. Soars of Philadelphia, will occupy the pulpit at the Baptist church Sunday, November 25.
The prayer meetings of the Baptist church will be led, while the church is without a pastor, by the Ladies Missionary society and the different Sunday School classes.
The Father and son banquet was held Friday evening in the M.E. church parlor. A large crowd was in attendance and enjoyed both the banquet and the program. D.B. Little acted as toastmaster and the theme was “Father and Son Partnerships.”
Hughesville
Byron W. King has been engaged to deliver a lecture in the Hughesville Baptist church Wednesday evening, December 5.
Harry Bubb, who underwent an operation for gall stones at the Muncy Valley hospital last Thursday, is getting along nicely.
Mrs. Ardella Ritter Gordner announces the marriage of her daughter, Belva A., to Mr. William Fredrick Cowers on Thursday, November 15, 1923, at Broad Street Presbyterian church in the city of Columbus, O.
