Police Chief Terry Lynn to speak to seniors

By Staff | Aug 31, 2010

The Montgomery Area Senior Citizens will hold their September meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at the St. John Lutheran (Brick) Church, Rt. 405, Montgomery. Health Checks, provided by the Susquehanna Home Health Service, will begin at 11 a.m. and a tureen dinner will follow at noon. Visitors are welcome and reservations are not necessary. Please bring table service and a dish to share.

Montgomery’s police chief, Terry Lynn, will speak on the history of law enforcement in the borough and also of the murder of Police Chief Henry Hand while on duty on Dec. 13, 1938. In 1944, former mayor, Alfred Douglas, initiated the re-naming of Park Street to that of Henry Hand Drive in memory of the former police chief.
