Ruthadel Zinck Houseknecht will turn 101 years old on December 26.

Ruthadel Zinck Houseknecht will turn 101 years old on December 26, 2014. She was the first born child to Melvin and Edith Zinck in Liberty, PA. She was later joined by two sisters Susan Zinck Briggs and Betty Zinck Sobala.

Ruthadel graduated from Williamsport High School in 1932. She attended Mansfield State Teachers College and taught at Gray Valley one room School house in Tioga County from 1934 until 1942. In the fall of 1942, Ruthadel started teaching at Hughesville grade school. On July 19th 1957, she married Miles R. Houseknecht. The couple lived in Williamsport until Miles passed. In 2011 Ruthadel and her sister moved to Wolf Run Village in Hughesville where many former students have stopped in to say hello.
