MONTGOMERY - “On Sundays we walked to church which seemed a long way as I was five or six, but in reality it was two to three miles from our house. My recollections was it was a beautiful building with a big pipe organ. The collection bag was unique, attached to a long metal wand which the person collecting could pass from one end of the pew to the other. Sundays were special because of always having baked goods to eat.
